Michael, a founding partner at both Synapse Physical Therapy and Impact Sports Performance, is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist that brings 30 years of experience in the field of sports medicine and rehabilitation to Synapse PT.
A native of Chicago, Michael has been fortunate to work with all levels of athletes from the weekend warrior to professional athletes. Prior to this he was an Athletic Trainer with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL for 6 years, additionally he has worked with teams from the NBA, MLB, MLS and NFL.
He continues to serve as the Director of Medical Services for USA Rugby, a role he has held since 2005. He has taken part in the last 2 Rugby World Cups in 2007 and 2011. He also served on the Sports Medicine & Science Committee for US Figure Skating. Michael has been active with legislation in the athletic training profession. He also teaches courses in anatomy and rehabilitation throughout the country and serves as an expert witness in sports medicine and head injuries. Michael received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Southern Illinois University and a M.S. degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from the University of Illinois.
Michael and his wife Amy, a physician at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, reside in Aurora and enjoy spending time with their 5 children.
